
An 18-year-old woman from Apple Valley was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon following an altercation on Monday night. Jenelle Jasmine Davila is accused of hurling a metal object at a young man, also 18, which resulted in swelling and multiple scratches, authorities said.
The incident, which did not necessitate medical attention for the victim, occurred on the 21400 block of Del Oro Road at around 10:00 pm. The Apple Valley Police Department, upon receiving a report of the assault, dispatched Deputy T. Belvin to conduct an investigation. Following the probe, Davila was taken into custody and booked at High Desert Detention Center where she's being held in lieu of a $40,000 bail.
Details of the conflict and the relationship between Davila and the victim remain unclear. However, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department has encouraged the public to come forward with any information regarding the case. In a statement obtained by their website, the department urged people with knowledge about the incident to reach out to Deputy Belvin at the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station or to contact Sheriff’s Dispatch. The case, numbered 182400127, continues to be under investigation. Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus of San Bernardino County has not released any further comments.
