A brazen robbery escalated to violence late Saturday night when three armed suspects stormed a northwest Houston gas station and shot a bystander. In the incident, as reported by FOX 26 Houston, the suspects, wielding firearms, threatened the station clerk and secured an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene. An individual, struck by gunfire shortly after the heist, limped into the Circle K on the corner of 18th Street, and Seaspray Court seeking emergency assistance around 11:30 p.m.
The victim, whom Click2Houston reports is in stable condition, was caught in the chaos outside the establishment. Details regarding the shooting remained scant, but it is believed the victim was an unintended casualty of the earlier robbery. Following the incident, emergency units converged upon the scene, and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators are now actively searching for the three suspects. Description of the suspects, disclosed by Houston Police Department, include one wearing a green hoodie, black pants, and sporting a red backpack, another cloaked in a gray hoodie and sweatpants, and the third donned in a black hoodie paired with red sweatpants. The direction of their escape, following the crime, however, remains unknown. Houston Police urge anyone with information to come forward, and contact the department's Robbery Division or to submit an anonymous tip to Crimestoppers.
