Law enforcement is calling on the public to assist in the hunt for two suspects linked to a theft in a Westlake Village Costco parking lot, which took place last month. According to the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station, a female customer was shadowed by the perpetrators before the male suspect was spotted by surveillance cameras snatching the woman's wallet from her purse on December 7, 2023.
Authorities have released images of the suspects and the getaway vehicle, an Infiniti SUV, in hopes that community members can aid in identifying the individuals responsible. As reported by The Malibu Times and echoed in the pleas disseminated by local media outlets, including Acorn Newspaper and Radio Malibu 99.1 KBU, the stolen credit cards were later used, or rather attempted to be used, as they were declined at a Walmart store.
The City of Westlake Village also shared the appeal for information on its official website, underlining the ongoing partnership between the community and local law enforcement in tackling crime. The Lost Hills Sheriff's Station took to social media, using their Facebook page to provide critical details about the incident and the suspects.
Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward and can do so anonymously by contacting "LA Crime Stoppers" at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
