Bojangles Sets Sights on Burleson for Eighth Texas Outlet, Boosting DFW's Fast-Food LandscapeSource: Google Street View

Fried chicken fans in Burleson, Texas, are in for a treat as Bojangles, the Charlotte-based fast-food chain, is slated to open its eighth Texas outlet by year's end. The new 3,170-square-foot addition at the intersection of Southwest Freeway and McAlister Road comes with a hefty $1 million price tag for construction alone and is set to be completed by October 31, as reported by The Dallas Express

The specifics about the project, codenamed Bojangles New Build, with a project number TABS2024008499 reveal the involved parties: the design firm HFA of Arkansas, the owner as Bomac McAlistor Investments LLC, and no tenants assigned yet but this project, which came to light through Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, is described as a privately funded venture on private land, for private use, signaling the confidence of the investors in the regional fast-food market and its potential growth.

The chain, with a presence of 822 restaurants across the U.S., is known for its "Southern-style chicken biscuit," a crowd favorite since the first store opened in Charlotte in 1977 by founders Richard Thomas and Jack Fulk. Bojangles has expanded its menu to include a variety of chicken dishes, family meals, and eight different side items, offering a taste of Southern hospitality beyond its Carolina roots.

Last October, the company also showcased its commitment to giving back by donating a significant sum of $563,311 to Folds of Honor, an action that aligns with the values of its community-focused brand image, it was through their iconic biscuits and chicken that the chain raised these funds, a fact emphasized by Ken Reynolds, executive director of the Bojangles Foundation, who praised the customers' support: "While we are proud of our donation to Folds of Honor, there is no way we can adequately express our gratitude for the sacrifices our veterans and first responders and their families have made," he said, per The Dallas Express.

Reflecting on the chain's growth and its broader contributions, local chicken enthusiasts not only have another spot to savor Bojangles' renowned dishes but also can take pride in patronizing an establishment that values and supports the sacrifices made by military families and first responders within their communities.
