Dallas residents are in for a spell of murky weather as the National Weather Service Fort Worth TX has issued a Dense Fog Advisory, effective until 10 AM CST this morning, cautioning that visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less in dense fog across parts of North, Northeast, and South Central Texas. According to the weather advisory, drivers should expect poor driving conditions and are advised to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain ample distance from the vehicle ahead.
Despite the fog lifting later in the day, Dallas will not get much of a respite with a 20 percent chance of showers and persistent cloudy skies projected by weather forecasts for today. The temperature is expected to hover around a high of 53 degrees, with a slight north-northwest wind of around 5 mph, tonight the chance of rain increases to 50 percent, particularly between 9 pm and 3 am while areas of fog will once again pose a threat to visibility, cloud cover continues with a low around 44 degrees accompanied by a similar wind pace. The Dallas Weather Forecast also includes predictions of patchy morning fog on Thursday before transitioning to mostly sunny conditions with a high near 62 and a switch in the wind direction to south southwest in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Further weather complications are expected by week's end with a 40 percent chance of showers forecasted for Friday afternoon followed by the likelihood of thunderstorms before 9 pm, the National Weather Service warns that some storms come Friday night could be strong, leading into a weekend where conditions are anticipated to clear up somewhat, giving way to partly sunny skies and a high near 58 on Saturday followed by a mostly clear night with a low around 37.
Clear skies will herald the arrival of a cooler but sunny Sunday, with a forecast high of 58 degrees and continuing breezes from the north northwest, for the first part of next week, residents are promised sunny days with highs hovering in the mid-60s and nights that should remain mostly clear with lows in the upper 30s, a stark contrast to the heaviness of the moisture-laden air that is enveloping the city today the prospect for the following days ensures a brief solace for the waterlogged grounds and the dense shroud that grips the roads with unseen fists.
