It's a high note for Dripping Springs High School as two of their musical talents have struck a chord with the Texas Music Educators Association. Junior Megan Aldridge, showing her vocal prowess, has made it into the prestigious All-State Treble Choir. Not to be outdone, fellow junior Colin Tuohy has also clinched a spot for the second year running, this time in the All-State Tenor-Bass Choir, according to an announcement from Hays Free Press.

Aldridge, noted for her Alto 2 range, secured her selection after placing third at the Area E auditions, an event that, was held on Saturday in San Antonio. On the other hand, Tuohy's first-place finish as a Tenor 1, assured his position among the elite high school musicians of Texas. Both Aldridge and Tuohy are set to showcase their vocal talents during a concert scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 10, at 2:00 p.m., at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, open to the public and with no admission charge, Dripping Springs News reported.

However, the recognition wasn't confined to just these two individuals. Dripping Springs High School's contribution to the arts emerged earlier, during the Area E auditions in November. A school record of 12 choir members had qualified, signaling a particularly strong showing this year from the school's music department. While Aldridge and Tuohy may have secured the spotlight, their peers Anika Chalak and Colin Tuohy were recognized as first alternates to the respective All-State Treble and All-State Tenor-Bass Choirs. Other notable participants included Ava Azua, Julian Barradas, and Isabella Eleazar, among others.
