A man was fatally shot early Tuesday morning after he forced his way into a home in Atascocita, as per authorities. Houston's Precinct 4 deputies arrived at the scene on the 3700 block of Woodlace Drive to find the 39-year-old dead from gunshot wounds, a situation stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported that the deceased, also the estranged common-law husband of the shooter, had a history of incidents with the law, as "several police reports had been made in the previous days in regards to the on-going situation." The man kicked in the back door of the residence to gain entry, at which point the 39-year-old female resident shot him. At the scene, the victim was armed with a handgun when the incident occurred, Gonzalez said in a post on X.
