Fairfield Police officers initiated a stop for an equipment violation late Thursday night, but what should have been a simple interaction with the law swiftly escalated into a situation marked by danger and illegality.
According to the Fairfield Police Department's Facebook post, officers identified the driver as 44-year-old Kenneth Taylorgrace, who decided not to yield, triggering a chase. Taylorgrace attempted to escape on foot before being arrested, after failing to stop his vehicle.
The car, emptied of its driver's presence, revealed secrets stashed below: a loaded Glock lay hidden on the car's floorboard, within arms' reach. This discovery, paired with several bundles of cocaine intended for sale found in the vehicle, added to the gravity of Taylorgrace's apprehension. The officers reportedly saw Taylorgrace reaching for the area where the gun was found right before he fled.
With his arrest, Kenneth Taylorgrace now faces the music for a parole violation and a slew of other accusations.
