A routine traffic stop turned into a significant bust in downtown Glendale, with proactive policing tactics leading to three arrests this past weekend, officials said Monday. The Glendale Police Department reported that a patrol officer spotted a car marked by suspicious paper plates on Saturday, January 27, and decided to pull it over near the Galleria at around 1:00 p.m. The incident led to the discovery of narcotics and a hidden weapon in the vehicle.
According to a statement from the Glendale Police Department, the three male occupants of the car were found to have prior arrests as well as probation and parole statuses. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities uncovered cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools, and a concealed loaded handgun, the press release detailed.
The Glendale Police officers arrested the trio on multiple charges, noting that one of the men had attempted to provide a false identity during the stop. His subterfuge was an effort to conceal his status as a parolee and the fact that he was at large. The quick action of the patrol officer effectively brought these individuals into custody before any further criminal activity could take place.
