Thieves made off with $2,000 worth of liquor after a smash-and-grab burglary at a Glendale store, local authorities reported. Glendale Police were called to a commercial burglary in progress on the 500 block of N. Glendale Avenue on January 7th, just past mid-afternoon. According to a statement obtained by the City of Glendale, the prowlers shattered display cases and stripped the cabinets clean of alcohol before the crime was reported.
Despite their hurried escape, the suspects failed to evade police for long. With a description of the getaway vehicle and suspects quickly disseminated to local law enforcement, Glendale Police briefly pursued and then successfully nabbed two of the five implicated parties later that evening. While a six-minute delay did initially occur before the heist was brought to the attention of the police, swift action followed thereafter to track down those responsible.
Among the arrested was 18-year-old Sean Anthony Wooten of Los Angeles, alongside an unnamed minor; both are now facing felony burglary charges. The identities and whereabouts of the remaining suspects are still under investigation. The Glendale Police Department has extended gratitude to community members for their assistance and reiterates the importance of reporting suspicious activities without delay.
