A man wanted for multiple offenses, including assault, was nabbed by law enforcement after a brief chase in Harris County. According to official reports, deputies responded to a telephone harassment complaint on January 13, which escalated into a foot pursuit when the suspect decided to make a run for it on the 24000 block of Breckenridge Forest Drive.
Although the suspect made an attempt to evade capture, deputies were swift to act, quickly reeling him in. As per the statement from Constable Mark Herman's office on Facebook, the man had drawn the attention of the authorities earlier that day after having been identified with open warrants for assault with previous convictions and violation of a protective order, carrying a combined bond of $30,000.
The suspect, identified as Bernard Lane, struggled but couldn't outpace the law. He was arrested and transported to Harris County Jail, with the added charge of felony evading on top of his prior offenses. "Bernard Lane was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading with previous convictions. His bond was set at $10,000.00 out of the 248th District Court," Constable Mark Herman detailed the arrest.
