In a decisive response to theft, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's office swiftly returned stolen electronic devices to a grateful owner and apprehended two suspects in connection with the crime. The incident, which occurred on December 2, unfolded after an iPhone and iPad were reported stolen overnight from a vehicle on the 3200 block of Crossfell Road. The items were tracked down to the same location later that day.
An update posted on the official Facebook page of Precinct 4 Constable's Office detailed how deputies managed to quickly make contact with the suspects. During the encounter, one suspect attempted to deceive the officers by providing a false identity. This individual was subsequently identified as Devante West, a man already out on bond for a separate offense. His companion, Justice Conner, was also found to be in possession of the purloined items.
The swift action of the constables allowed for the items to be returned to their rightful owner. The turn of events culminated in the arrest of both West and Conner, who were taken into custody by the authorities. "They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft. Devante West was also charged with Failure to Identify," Constable Mark Herman stated on the social media post. Furthermore, West's bond was substantially set at $10,000.00, spanning charges from the 174th District Court and County Court 9. At the time of reporting, Justice Conner’s bond had yet to be determined.
