Harris County Juveniles Charged with Assault on Officer after Vehicular Chase and Burglary Spree

In Harris County when two juveniles, allegedly engaged in a string of vehicle burglaries, found themselves in a high-stakes confrontation with law enforcement. The incident, which occurred on January 21, spiraled into a dangerous vehicular chase culminating with charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and evading arrest.

According to Constable Mark Herman's Office, deputies were dispatched to Arbor Trails Drive following reports of a suspicious vehicle and its occupants trying to break into other cars upon arrival, the deputies caught sight of the two suspects mid-burglary, their attempt to escape in a vehicle sparked a pursuit by law enforcement. The driver refused to stop, leading the police on a brief chase that intensified when the suspect allegedly rammed a patrol car deliberately.

After losing control and crashing their getaway vehicle, the pair fled on foot but were swiftly apprehended. The juvenile behind the wheel was subsequently detained and charged. "The juvenile driver was arrested and booked into Harris County Juvenile Detention Center for Aggravated Assault on Police Officer and Evading in Motor Vehicle. The other juvenile suspect was charged with Evading Arrest and released to his guardian," stated Constable Mark Herman. The other suspect involved in the attempted burglaries was also detained, facing charges of evading arrest, and subsequently released to his guardian.
