A man has been arrested and charged after a frightening incident in a convenience store parking lot in Harris County. Maurice Jimenez is facing serious charges, including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, after allegedly pointing a firearm at people outside the store.
Constable Mark Herman's deputies arrived at the scene of the disturbance, which unfolded on Aldine Westfield Road, where they apprehended Jimenez. According to a statement posted on Constable Herman's Facebook page, the deputies discovered a 9mm handgun in the suspect's vehicle. Surveillance footage from the convenience store supported the allegations laid against Jimenez.
"Maurice Jimenez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon," Constable Mark Herman's office announced. The bond for Jimenez has been set at a significant $150,000.00, a reflection of the seriousness of the accusations.
Jimenez's fate now lies with the 337th District Court where, his trial will determine the consequences of that perilous New Year’s Eve confrontation.
