Chaos erupted at a Houston intersection when an alleged hit-and-run driver decided to turn violent after being tailed by a sharp-eyed witness. The Harris County Constable's Office reported that deputies responded to the corner of N Eldridge Pkwy and Spring Cypress Road on January 14, following reports of a vehicular crime.
The drama unfolded after a bystander, who witnessed the collision, took it upon himself to follow the fleeing suspect. Things took a turn for the worse when the suspect stopped short of his swanky gated community on Columbia Key Drive, yanked the witness from his car, and allegedly proceeded to assault him.
In a heroic attempt to dodge further confrontation, the victim managed to escape and promptly informed deputies of the assailant's location. Acting on this tip, law enforcement officers arrested the suspect at his home. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman, the man apprehended was David Hoevker.
"David Hoevker was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Fail to Stop and Give Information and Assault. His bond was set at $200.00 out of County Court 11," Constable Mark Herman disclosed.
