
A man was killed in a solo vehicle crash yesterday morning on Almeda Genoa Road in Houston, authorities said. The victim, a 32-year-old male whose name has yet to be released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics following the accident that occurred around 5:50 a.m.
According to the City of Houston's official news release, the driver was speeding in a black BMW 428i when he lost control of his vehicle and spun out, the car then struck a wooden fence and a large steel container, which brought the BMW to a devastating halt, claiming the life of its sole occupant.
The Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division, including Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer J. Tran, are spearheading the ongoing investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event. The early morning hours of New Year's Day on the 8400 block of Almeda Genoa Road now mark the spot where a sudden calamity snuffed out a young life.
No other persons or vehicles were implicated in the severance of life and potential that occurred on the cold asphalt that morning, the investigation, as per the police, is still actively piecing together the last moments that led up to the crash, while the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is charged with the somber task of officially verifying the identity of the deceased.
