HPD Chief Troy Finner detailed hundreds of calls flooding the department about celebratory gunfire across Houston during the festivities. Initially, arresting seven suspects found discharging firearms, Chief Finner told KTRK, "Hundreds of calls were received about firearms being discharged overnight across Houston." In response to this dangerous trend, city and county officials are cracking down on what can only be described as reckless end-of-year celebrations.
