
Houston authorities are probing a deadly car crash where a woman lost her life early Sunday. HPD officials say the tragic incident occurred at 7700 Harwin Drive around 1:35 a.m., leaving a 25-year-old female passenger dead at the scene. Her identity remains undisclosed, pending confirmation from The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The crash involved a red Toyota Camry that veered off the road and smashed into a tree under cloudy circumstances. According to Houston police, the vehicle’s female occupant was thrown out upon impact. A 28-year-old male who was behind the wheel allegedly did not assist and escaped on foot, leaving behind a scene of devastation.
As recounted by the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer J. Trevino, there were no other vehicles involved in the mishap. The Houston Fire Department paramedics responded swiftly to the emergency, rushing the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital, but the the woman was pronounced dead.
The police are now calling upon the community for assistance in locating the absconded driver. Witnesses or individuals with relevant knowledge about the man's identity are encouraged to come forth.
