Houston cops are on the hunt for clues after a man was found fatally stabbed on Avenue S Monday afternoon, officials said.
The unidentified victim was discovered unresponsive in the street at the 6900 block around 3:20 p.m., suffering from a stab wound, according to the city of Houston's news release. Responding to a report of a person down, HPD patrol officers found him already gone, and the Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide Division Detectives D. Lunceford and D. Davis are following up on leads that a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, which was seen leaving the vicinity with a black toolbox in the bed, may be tied to the incident.
Law enforcement is asking anyone who might have seen the truck or knows something about the crime to come forward. The driver of the pickup truck, wanted for questioning, remains a person of interest in this unsolved case. Surveillance photos of the vehicle in question have been released to the public.
