A 16-year-old boy was caught in the act of burglarizing a vehicle after authorities were alerted to his suspicious activity in a Houston neighborhood. According to a report by Constable Mark Herman's Office, the juvenile was nabbed by deputies on Thursday in the 9200 block of Mauna Lane.
The report states that the young suspect was discovered inside a vehicle, searching through the belongings before law enforcement arrived. He is alleged to have been checking door handles on vehicles before being located, which initially raised suspicions leading to the deputies being dispatched. After finding the male suspect, he was "quickly apprehended," as described by Herman.
"The juvenile male was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center, charged with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle." said Constable Mark Herman. Details regarding the items potentially stolen or the particular vehicle involved have not been released to the public.
The identity of the suspect is protected due to his juvenile status; hence, no further information about his name or background has been disseminated.
