A 22-year-old woman, Alize Velosa, faces charges in connection with the stabbing of another woman during the early hours of Wednesday at an address on North Sam Houston Parkway East, authorities report.
The incident, which police say occurred around 12:10 a.m., resulted in the victim, a 38-year-old woman, sustaining multiple lacerations she was subsequently transported to the hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening after Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene, according to a news release from the City of Houston.
Detective C. Grahmann of the HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division detailed that the two women, understood to be partners, had a verbal altercation that escalated, leading to the stabbing; Velosa, still at large, is now charged with aggravated assault of a family member in the 486th State District Court. With the Harris County District Attorney's Office having been consulted, charges were pressed though Velosa has yet to be apprehended.
