A 30-year-old woman, who was critically injured in a vehicle accident last Sunday, succumbed to her injuries. The accident took place at the intersection of 3200 West Orem Drive around 6 a.m.
According to the Houston Police Department the woman, whose name has yet to be released, was operating a blue Honda Accord northbound on Waterloo Drive. Her car met a devastating end when an eastbound Ford F-150, clashed into her vehicle on West Orem Drive. The woman was promptly taken to a nearby hospital in a critical state, there, her fight for survival ended on Wednesday as doctors pronounced her dead.
The driver of the Ford F-150, a 27-year-old male, was left unscathed by the incident. He was interrogated by officials but later released from the scene, as reported by the HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones, the details of which were shared via an official communication from the Houston Police Department. As of now, no charges have been pressed while the investigation continues to unravel the circumstances leading to the crash.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is tasked with confirming the identity of the deceased, and at this stage of investigation details remain sparse.
