A devastating car crash in Jurupa Valley claimed the life of a driver late Saturday night, with sheriff's deputies investigating the possibility of DUI involvement. According to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the accident occurred near the intersection of Riverview Drive and 42nd Street shortly after 11:00 p.m.
The initial reports came in as deputies were making their way to respond to a call about a suspected drunk driver. When they arrived at the scene, they found the wreckage of a vehicle with the driver, who had not yet been identified, already dead. The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team is looking to thoroughly determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
The thoroughfare was cordoned off from 42nd Street to Mission Blvd for several hours as authorities worked the scene, collecting what remained and evidence that might offer clues into this tragic incident. Traffic was rerouted around the investigation site, causing brief delays.
