The Long Beach Police Department is calling upon the community for assistance in the identification and capture of a man linked to two separate assaults earlier this week. According to officials, both incidents involved an assailant striking unsuspecting victims with an unidentified object.

The first assault occurred on January 4th at around 9:47 a.m., near 21st Street and Locust Avenue. The LBPD describes a chilling scene where the attacker struck a person walking a stroller, fortunately leaving the child unharmed. A second attack was reported on the same day at approximately 12:27 p.m., this time near 21st Street and Pine Avenue, where a passerby suffered the same fate at the hands of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic adult in his mid-20s, standing between 5’5” and 5’7” tall, with a peach fuzz mustache. He was last seen wearing a white hat, a turquoise sweater over a black hooded sweater, blue pants, white and black tennis shoes, and carrying a black bag with shoulder straps around his neck. Authorities have stepped up patrols in the area to find the individual responsible for these violent acts.

In their social media appeal, the LBPD urged anyone with information to come forward and contact Police Dispatch at 562.435.6711 or to reach out to Violent Crime Detectives at 562.570.7250. The police remind residents to stay vigilant and to "See Something, Say Something," in an effort to maintain community safety and aid in their investigation.
