
The Los Angeles Police Department arrested 24-year-old Dwight Panton for the murder of a man at a Metro station in Hyde Park last week, as per an X post by the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, later identified as 29-year-old Adrian Gibbs, was shot at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard, he was then rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Panton was detained near 50th Street and 9th Avenue, he was allegedly wearing the same clothes spotted during the lethal incident and was found carrying a firearm, officials said in a news conference. In addition to the murder charge, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office slapped Panton with two counts of attempted murder and an assault with a firearm charge in connection with other shootings in the Leimert Park area and Inglewood, NBC Los Angeles detailed.
The incident took place on a walkway near the Metro Station where it was reported that Gibbs had been involved in an argument with a group before the shooting according to police, however, the specifics of the victim's identity and the underlying motive beyond the initial altercation remained clouded in uncertainty early on.
Currently, Panton is being held on a $3,110,000 bail as he faces these serious allegations, the LAPD News noted.
