
A 36-year-old man has died following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in San Rafael on Saturday evening. The fatal incident took place at the intersection of Second Street and A Street, drawing a rapid response from emergency services.
According to the San Rafael Police Department, the call came in just after 7:55 PM, wherein officers, firefighters, and paramedics arrived within minutes. They discovered an unconscious male pedestrian with critical injuries. Despite prompt transport to a local hospital, the victim ultimately perished due to his injuries.
In a statement posted on X, SRPD confirmed the driver involved in the accident cooperated with police at the scene and that alcohol was not deemed a contributing factor. The mishap resulted in a lengthy nine-hour road closure for a preliminary investigation by the SRPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
