A man accused of assaulting a pregnant woman was nabbed by deputies following a traffic stop, the local constable's office said Thursday. Donte Daniels, the driver, was pulled over in the 23100 block of Aldine Westfield Road when officers made the identification.
The stop, which happened on January 12, led to a deeper investigation that unearthed Daniels' open felony warrant related to the charge. With Daniels behind the wheel, deputies conducted a standard traffic stop that quickly escalated to an arrest scenario, Constable Mark Herman's Office said.
Constable Mark Herman confirmed the arrest in a Facebook post. "Donte Daniels was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the felony warrant," the post detailed. At this time, neither bond nor court information has been determined for him.
The details surrounding the assault case have not been disclosed, but Daniels now faces the legal system’s full weight as the process unfolds. An update is anticipated when setting his bond terms and the court schedule. To read more about the arrest, visit the constable's official Facebook page of Constable Mark Herman.
