In a fortunate turn of events, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced that Madison Beck, the 17-year-old who had been reported missing since Christmas Eve, has been located, as per a recent update from the Sheriff's Information Bureau, which expressed gratitude for the community's efforts in the successful search. The teen had last been seen taking a taxi from the 8400 block of Donnybrook Circle in Whittier, raising concerns over her safety.
Before being found, Beck's description was widely circulated; the Sheriff's department described her as a Black female, measuring 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing in at approximately 100 pounds, with brown hair and eyes, and decks out in a gray crop top, black tights, and tan tennis shoes at the time of her disappearance authorities and her foster mother urgently sought the public's help as they worried over her well-being, according to the LASD press release.
The initial investigation enlisted the assistance of the public and the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau, encouraging anyone with information to make contact, and even providing an avenue for anonymous tips through "Crime Stoppers," which was part of an extensive campaign to locate the young Beck; information could be delivered by phone, mobile app, or website, as seen in Hoodline reports.
The Sheriff's Department also urged locals to subscribe to "Nixle" alerts for real-time updates which proved useful in garnering tips that ultimately contributed to Madison’s safe return the investigators have not released details surrounding the circumstances of her discovery, the Sheriff's Information Bureau stated.
