Riverside County Board of Supervisors has appointed Nicole Windom-Hurd as the new chief in town for Child Support Services, taking the reins to drive support for kids and families. Rolling with more than two decades under her belt, Windom-Hurd isn't new to the grind, having tackled the inside track as Assistant Director since 2018, where she played a pivotal role in marshaling the department's mission and hammering out policies, according to a statement released by the county.
Packing a combo of a political science, sociology, and diversity studies degree from the University of California Santa Barbara and an MBA to boot, Windom-Hurd's appointment is a move that Board Chair Chuck Washington says "will undoubtedly strengthen our efforts to support families and ensure the well-being of children in our community," he preached on the Riverside County's feed.
Windom-Hurd swung her weight in the Child Support Director's Association committees statewide, adding her opinion on policy and program development that touches families across the country. Her philosophy is clear: "I understand the importance child support plays in the lives of families," Nicole said in a county announcement.
