Last night, a devastating blaze ripped through an apartment complex in northwest Harris County. The fire, reported shortly before midnight in the 13900 block of Ella Boulevard, saw firefighters from Little York, Klein, Northwest, and Ponderosa rushing to contain the explosive situation. According to FOX 26 Houston, officials estimate that up to a dozen units were destroyed in the incident.
The firefighters from multiple agencies extinguished the 2-alarm fire which took approximately 90 minutes. While the precise cause of the fire is still under investigation, early indications suggest that it was accidental, and believed to have ignited near the complex's boiler room. The American Red Cross was reportedly on hand to assist those displaced, ensuring that the immediate aftermath saw at least a semblance of aid and comfort provided.
Fortunately, despite the fire's severity, there have been no reported injuries. As described by Click2Houston, the inferno originated in the attic space of the leasing office due to what is being considered an electrical/mechanical failure.
