The city of Fort Worth played host with a Texas-sized welcome to a visiting delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, looking to chew the fat over innovation and economic strategies. Kicking off on Jan. 26, the Omani guests got a taste of what makes Fort Worth a hub for innovation and economic growth, part of a tour that also included Austin and Dallas.

The Fort Worth Office of Innovation organized this shindig, roping in the Thunderbird School of Management at Arizona State University, and the welcome wagon rolled out at the Fort Worth Club with Fort Worth’s chief of strategy and innovation Carlo Capua setting the scene alongside Steve Montgomery, president of the prominent Fort Worth Chamber who provided the official how-do-you-dos, according to the City of Fort Worth.

Digging into the meat of their visit, the Omani officials chewed over subjects ranging from promoting tourism, bolstering economic development, and enhancing health initiatives; this in-depth confab included the insights of Estela Martinez Stuart, director of tourism for Visit Fort Worth, and Cynthia Gonzales, of Cook Children’s Hospital Global Health Services.

But it wasn't all work and no play for the delegation they also hit up a Rotary program and got a guided viewing of downtown Fort Worth with its landmarks such as Sundance Square and the Sinclair Hotel, before moseying over to the Fort Worth Stockyards where the Omani delegation got a gander at the Herd among other local sights and experiences.
