The Orange County Fire Authority reported that firefighters raced against the clock to battle the two-alarm fire after being dispatched at 9:18 AM to the 5700 block of Playa Way.

Witnesses reported that an adult woman was shouting for help from within; she was eventually rescued through a window broken by a quick-thinking neighbor and a passerby, however, the flames claimed the life of another, as a tragic discovery was made of one person found deceased inside their home. Firefighter paramedics treated the injured woman at the scene before rushing her to a local hospital, her condition was unknown at the time.
