Four people were found dead in a home in the city of Orange on Monday morning in a scene that is now the focus of a homicide investigation. Authorities say they responded to a call at around 7:51 a.m. to the 2400 block of North Eight Street, where they made the grim discovery.
Sgt. Keith Longlois of the Orange Police Department confirmed the victims had been shot. Police have not yet released the names or ages of the deceased, nor have they detailed the possible relationship between them, according to KHOU. The area has been cordoned off, with crime scene tape encircling a small, wood-frame house on a residential street, just three blocks south of Interstate 10, awaiting a search warrant to conduct a full-scale investigation.
Family members could be seen gathering near the home while police carried out their work. Officials indicated they would share more information on the case in the coming hours. In light of the incident, concerned citizens are being reminded that they can submit anonymous tips, which might lead to a cash reward of up to $1,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas through a phone call or their mobile app.
Meanwhile, Lt. Stephen Ward with the Orange Police Department told KFDM it's too early in the investigation to confirm the relationships of the individuals found. A relative, however, informed KFDM that the individuals had been shot. The officers are waiting for a search warrant to continue their investigation.
