A stabbing incident in Rancho Cucamonga has left a senior citizen in critical condition and a 35-year-old woman facing attempted murder charges. The attack occurred on the evening of January 28, resulting in an elderly woman suffering multiple stab wounds, according to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department.
Authorities were called to the scene in the 7600 block of Haven Avenue at around 6:20 p.m., where they found the 76-year-old victim. Deputies provided life-saving measures until the paramedics arrived, subsequently transporting the victim to a regional trauma center, where she remains stable but critical. Deborah Esteen-Jordan, identified as the assailant and a cohabitant of the victim, reportedly used a kitchen knife in the assault.
The Rancho Cucamonga sheriff's detectives have taken over the investigation following Esteen-Jordan's arrest. She was booked at the West Valley Detention Center, as confirmed by the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department.
