A man was found shot to death in a Rohnert Park shopping center parking lot on Thursday evening, local authorities are investigating the case as a suspicious death, a press release from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety confirmed.
The victim, an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest, was discovered after a 911 call reported a loud noise resembling gunfire at about 6:30 p.m in the 900 block of Golf Course Drive, responding officers and fire personnel from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety and Sonoma County Fire Department arrived on scene within a minute, they initiated life-saving procedures but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the identity of the deceased has not yet been disclosed, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is appealing to the public for any pertinent information related to the incident, Detective Fermin Ramirez is spearheading the inquiry and can be contacted with details about case #24-0293.
