Big bucks are pouring into Uptown Dallas as Sixth Street, the San Francisco-born investment juggernaut, has earmarked a cool $3.2 million to spruce up its office digs at 2100 McKinney Avenue. The company, boasting a hefty $75 billion in assets under management, plans to deck out the entirety of the 10th floor and a slice of the 11th in the 19-story office tower.
Rebecca Vignali, the spokesperson for Sixth Street, didn't mince her words when she laid out the facts: "Our Dallas office is one of the largest offices we have," and with the team's numbers having ballooned to add 200 employees since 2020, the revamp isn't just for looks, it's to cater to its burgeoning workforce, she said in an interview with The Dallas Express. Down to the nuts and bolts, the renovation will cover an expanse of 28,000 square feet and, if all goes according to plan, should hit the finish line by October 15, this year, with the wheels of the project set to roll on April 1.
The hold-all responsible for this upscale makeover is The Ferro Collective, the chosen design firm that's carving out a blueprint for the sleek office space, and it's MCPP 2100 McKinney, LLC, wearing the owner's hat, per the information available from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Guarding the purse strings and standing as tenant contact is none other than Lindsay Farnsworth, while Melayne Packer is on deck to answer the call from the owner's side.
Amid this corporate shuffle and square footage shuffleboard Sixth Street made another power play earlier this month snagging Marcos Alvarado as partner and head of U.S. real estate, after his stints at real estate big shots like Safehold Inc., and before that Starwood Capital; Julian Salisbury, co-chief investment officer at Sixth Street hailed their real estate experience and market strategy leadership in the release announcing Alvarado's appointment, signaling Sixth Street's muscle flex in the real estate field.
