
A tragic incident in San Rafael has claimed the life of a local man after a vehicle struck him as he crossed the street, authorities have confirmed. Tyrell Ramone Finley, age 36, was fatally injured in the collision that occurred on January 13, as reported by the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
The accident took place around 7:55 PM on Second Street, between A Street and Brooks Street, where Finley was hit by a sedan while attempting to cross, the emergency response was immediate with first responders discovering Finley lying in the road, unconscious and unresponsive, and despite receiving prompt medical aid followed by a rush to the hospital, the 36-year-old succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The Coroner Division has since conducted a forensic postmortem examination and is awaiting the results of routine toxicology testing to determine the exact cause and manner of death, pending the ongoing investigations of both the San Rafael Police and the Coroner Division.
According to the sheriff's office, Finley's identity was released following the examination, and the Coroner Division has withheld further information due to the sensitivity of an active and open investigation. The office has extended its deepest condolences to Finley's family and friends.
