In the quiet streets of San Rafael, the peace was pierced by the roar of a modified muffler early this morning. The San Rafael Police, no strangers to noise complaints, nabbed a loud vehicle at 8:15 AM. Officer Marshall, on traffic duty, spotted the car because of its excessively loud exhaust—a clear modification to its muffler system.
After pulling over the rule-breaking ride, the cop discovered the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended license. The vehicle got towed on the spot, and the driver was slapped with a citation, but got to walk away from the scene.
The local police took to an X post to highlight the bust, noting, "This is great work by our officers who keep our neighborhoods safe and peaceful while enforcing traffic laws." By doing so, they remind residents that they're listening and are on the beat of the community's concerns.

The California Vehicle Code section 27150(a) insists that all registered vehicles have a proper muffler to prevent racket, while section 27151(a) frowns on any mods that crank up the volume—making sure the streets don't turn into a drag strip soundtrack.
