Not long after the initial report, the same officers were called to a scene involving an abandoned tractor and trailer in the middle of a parking lot. In a twist that could've been comedic if not for the criminal implications, the authorities discovered that the very trailer left behind was also lifted – a true case of stolen and stolen. There was a slight hiccup in the would-be thieves' plan: they couldn't secure the trailer to their getaway truck, prompting them to ditch their ill-gotten gains when the hitch failed.
San Rafael's finest are now following up on leads to unmask the suspects behind this ill-conceived heist. And while their identities remain a mystery, the police are hopeful that the pieces of the puzzle will soon come together to bring these perpetrators to justice.
Meanwhile, in a small victory for the construction company, both the tractor and the trailer are being returned to their rightful owners. As for the San Rafael Police, the case remains open, and the investigation continues.
