Suspected Harris County Assailant Leads Constables on High-Speed Chase, Faces New Evading Charge

In a routine traffic operation gone awry, Harris County Constable's deputies faced down a runaway driver that led to a high-speed chase. The pursuit was initiated after the suspect, identified as Cameron Mendez-Torres, refused to pull over his vehicle on January 26 in the 14900 block of Telge Road, as per Constable Mark Herman's Office.

The chase proved brief, yet fraught with the urgency of catching a man already bonded out on a hefty price, $30,000.00, for a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, deputies wasted no time in cornering and bringing the perp to a stillstand. In a statement posted on the precinct's official Facebook page, the constable’s office detailed the event which concluded with the eventual subduing and identification of the runaway driver as Mendez-Torres.

"Cameron Mendez-Torres was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading in a Motor Vehicle. His bond and court information have not been set at this time." - Constable Mark Herman declared within the same social media update.
