Three Arlington Restaurants Fail Health Inspections, Remain Open Pending Re-evaluationSource: Google Street View

Another sweep of restaurant inspections has left three Arlington eateries with failing grades, according to recent city health reports. During the inspection period between December 24 and December 30, not one but two restaurants – A-1 Plus Barbecue Inc. and Ocean Chinese Restaurant – couldn't meet the health and safety mark, with scores of 67 and 69, respectively, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

This series of checks isn't a first-time offense for A-1 Plus Barbecue Inc., a fact acknowledged by both city data, which marks it as the fourth fail within a single trip around the sun. The local retirement center, The Emerson South Collins, scraped by with a score of 71, just above the threshold for 'extremely poor.' No restaurants were closed despite these less-than-stellar grades.

The second half of this two-week inspection dealt another blow to the culinary scene. Biriyani House and K-Donuts found themselves on the lower end of the inspection scale, with scores of 70 and 73. Notably, Biriyani House previously had the misfortune of being shuttered not once but twice in 2023 after failing earlier health inspections, as reported by BNN Breaking.

Despite their failure to pass inspection with flying colors, the restaurants in question remained operational, a step made possible by their swift action to address the cited issues. "As per the health department’s regulations, any restaurant that scores 75 or below is subject to a re-inspection", as per BNN Breaking, ensuring that public health concerns are rectified in short order. Re-inspections are customary in these circumstances, allowing businesses the opportunity to correct their course and maintain their service to the community.
