Three Arrested in Stolen Vehicle Case on North Freeway, Driver Held on $15,000 Bond

In a routine traffic stop turned arrest, Constable deputies apprehended three suspects in a stolen car case on a busy North Houston street, authorities said. A post on the official Facebook page for Constable Mark Herman’s office detailed the incident which took place on January 28, 2024, stating that the officers pulled over the stolen vehicle in the 16500 block of the North Freeway.

Behind the wheel was driver Kristina Butler, accompanied by passengers Terry Jones and Osman Vasquez, all of whom were arrested following the stop; Butler, who was revealed to have an existing out-of-state warrant, was on a minuscule $100 bond for a prior criminal trespass, a stark contrast to the hefty $15,000 bond now set for the unauthorized use of the motor vehicle charge.

According to the Constable's Facebook page, Jones and Vasquez were charged with criminal trespass related to the motor vehicle, with their bonds set at a mere $100 in County Court 2. Herman's office indicated that all suspects were booked into Harris County Jail without specifying a court date.

"They were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail," Constable Herman confirmed in the post, he ensured an expeditious process from apprehension to incarceration demonstrating the efficiency of his team's response and commitment to public safety. Kristina Butler's bond was subsequently set at $15,000.00 out of the 262nd District Court, complicating her legal woes, while Jones and Vasquez faced their own tether to the justice system albeit with a considerably lower financial barrier for release.
