In a recent theft incident, two men have been apprehended after allegedly shoplifting from an Academy sports store on Kuykendahl Road. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Office, Deputy Guerrero took the suspects into custody following a rapid response to the shoplifting call.
After the purported theft, the suspects attempted to make a quick getaway in their vehicle, only to soon be stopped by Constable Deputies. The driver, under the strain of an existing open warrant for tampering with a government document, couldn't manage to convincingly deflect the attention of the law enforcement. His accomplice, riding shotgun, couldn't either to slip the grip of justice – he was found to have an open warrant for driving while intoxicated and was also discovered to be in possession of crack cocaine.
The stolen goods, which the pair had reportedly attempted to pilfer from the store, were successfully recovered and returned, effectively undoing the crime. Deputy Guerrero's actions were praised in the online announcement, which lauded the team with "Great work C4!!"
The identities of the accused have not been disclosed, nor has the specific merchandise they allegedly tried to steal. However, the swift action of the deputies sends a clear message that such criminal activities are being rigorously monitored in the community. The two men are now facing charges related to their warrants and the recent shoplifting episode, awaiting further legal proceedings.
