In an unusual act of self-surrender, a wanted felon turned herself in to Harris County law enforcement last Friday, Constable Mark Herman's office reports. Mercedes Madden, identified as the caller upon deputies' arrival at the 6900 block of Pebble Beach Drive, informed them that she was there to turn herself in on a felony warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Constable Herman's social media update provided the public with the details of Madden's surrender and subsequent arrest "Mercedes Madden was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the felony warrant. Her bond was set at $15,000.00 out of the 208th District Court." wrote the Constable in a post.
Following the arrest, Madden now awaits proceedings that will determine the outcome of her unexpectedly self-initiated confrontation with the law. The details of the assault that led to the issuance of the warrant remain undisclosed. More information can be found on the Constable's official Facebook page.
