The West Hollywood Station has released a Crime Report detailing a string of recent thefts and assaults between January 22nd and January 28th. The report outlines a diverse array of crimes, ranging from grand thefts to strong arm robberies, striking different parts of the community.

The week began with a brazen grand theft on Santa Monica Blvd, where a man was swiftly apprehended after stealing a rickshaw and attempting to flee the scene. The suspect not only found himself behind bars but was also discovered to have an active no bail warrant. Locker burglaries seem to also plague the area, with one individual losing a backpack filled with personal items and electronics from a supposedly secure locker without any visible sign of forced entry.

Burglaries continued throughout the week, with venues including both residential properties and office spaces. One such incident involved a fanny pack filled with credit cards being stolen from an office on San Vicente Blvd, and shortly thereafter used to make unauthorized purchases. A similar fate befell another victim, who awoke to the sound of an intruder in their home on West Knoll Drive, only to find cash missing from their living room.

An assault also occurred amidst the slew of burglaries, where a waiter was shockingly attacked with a pellet gun while working at an outdoor patio. The incident took place on Sunset Blvd and, while the victim was thankfully not severely injured, the perpetrator attacked the relative safety of a moving vehicle. Further burglaries and thefts, including strong-arm robberies and vehicle break-ins, occurred throughout the reporting period, highlighting a continuous challenge for local law enforcement and community safety.

Several instances of robbery occurred on Santa Monica Blvd, notably where suspects blatantly seized cell phones directly from victims' hands. In a particularly brazen act, a theft took place while the victim was waiting in line outside a club. The perpetrator managed to steal a cell phone through the guise of a hug. Vehicle burglaries continue to disturb the peace with one incident being the theft of a bag containing perfume after a car window was smashed along N Fairfax Avenue.
