A Windsor man's role in what authorities describe as a drug trafficking ring has landed him inside the Sonoma County Jail. Officials said the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) made the bust that netted 4 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from the suspect's vehicle. The collar was part of a month-long investigation by SRPD into a substantial methamphetamine distribution operation strewn across Santa Rosa and nearby cities, according to a Facebook post by the department.
Yesterday at around 11:05 a.m., SRPD detectives tracked down 64-year-old Ronald Lamb as he was driving north on Hwy 101 near Baker Avenue. Officers, acting on a search warrant, were directed to intervene and pull over Lamb swiftly. The search that followed revealed approximately 4 pounds of suspected meth on the floorboard of the passenger side of his vehicle. Lamb was detained with no reported incidents, pointing to a seemingly smooth operation by the police force.
After the highway bust, detectives advanced to Lamb's residence on Mirna Ct, Windsor, to continue the search under the same warrant. There, they discovered an additional 2 ounces of suspected methamphetamine along with what appeared to be materials meant for clean packaging of the substance. The search consolidated the investigators' case against Lamb, who is now facing serious drug allegations.
As per the official statement released on the SRPD Facebook page, Lamb has been booked on charges including possession of a controlled substance for sale (11378 H&S) and transportation of a controlled substance for sale (11379(a) H&S). The charges suggest an intent not merely to possess but to actively distribute the controlled substance, an allegation that carries with it significant legal repercussions. Regardless of his intentions or endgame, Lamb is to stand before the legal system where evidence and law decidedly may well determine his fate.
