
Firefighters in Los Feliz battled a greater alarm structure fire on Wednesday, with flames quickly spreading from an outdoor area into a residential property. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred at approximately 4:48 PM at 4535 W Melbourne Ave. The fire initially started outside before extending into a detached garage and the attic of an adjacent one-story home.
The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that their crews responded with force to the blaze. A preliminary report indicated the outside fire extended into the structures, necessitating a considerable response. The exact causes of the fire are yet to be determined by investigators. Despite the potential for harm, no injuries were reported in a statement obtained by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Ultimately, it took a contingent of 81 firefighters just 37 minutes to gain control of the situation. By 5:25 PM, the teams managed to confine and fully extinguish the flames, which had spread from vegetation to engulf the garage and affected a two-story residential duplex at the addresses 4535 Melbourne Avenue and 4550 Russell Avenue.
The effective response was captured in a report from the Los Angeles Fire Department, which detailed the coordination and swift action of the fire services. "Knockdown - Greater Alarm Structure Fire; INC#1228; 05:25PM; 4535 W Melbourne Av," the department declared proudly as they concluded a successful operation.
