Authorities are ramping up their efforts to locate 12-year-old Eminie Huges, who vanished nearly a week ago from her southwest Houston neighborhood. An Amber Alert was activated Wednesday morning by the Texas Center for the Missing, in a desperate bid to find the young girl. According to the Houston Chronicle, Huges hasn't been seen since around 1:40 a.m. on February 22, in the 7700 block of Waterchase.
The locale of her last sighting is close to the Missouri City line. Despite standing at a mere 4 feet 6 inches and weighing about 100 pounds, the search for Huges continues to intensify as days pass. She was last noticed wearing a white crop top shirt and pink joggers, her figure reportedly lost in the early morning hours, as she was seen leaving in a dark-colored, four-door Dodge pickup truck.
The Houston Police Department is leading the investigation into Huges' disappearance, with no significant leads surfacing just yet.
The authorities urge anyone having information to step forward immediately. The Texas Center for the Missing posted on X, a quick and accessible way for the public to spread the word and aid the search.
