
An Apple Valley woman ended Valentine's Day weekend in cuffs on Sunday night, after allegedly smashing into a man with her car while under the influence. The collision, which took place in Victorville, sent a 38-year-old male to the hospital with a head injury, officials said.
The incident occurred near D Street and Seventh Street, around 10:32 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department. Responding deputies discovered the injured man and identified the driver as 27-year-old Teresa Navarrete, behind the wheel of a 2016 Kia Soul. Reports say that Navarrete was allegedly intoxicated and already on a suspended license for a previous DUI.
Navarrete was taken into custody and faces charges including Driving Under the Influence Causing Bodily Injury and Driving with a Suspended License while Under the Influence. The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department's news release, which provided details of the arrest, mentioned that Navarrete was booked at High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto.
