The City of Austin is calling on the public for their input on the proposed goals for disadvantaged business enterprise participation at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. According to a statement made by the airport, a public meeting via Zoom took place today to discuss the Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) program's future. The aim for the 2024 through 2026 fiscal years is to set a 10.39% goal for non-car rental concessions and 4.54% for car rental concession contracts aided by DOT funds.
A virtual consultation was held to gather insights that could shape the ACDBE's target numbers. As outlined in the proposal, stakeholders had the chance to weigh in on the set goals until noon on the same day. The notice also stressed that the proposal is aligned with the DOT's guidelines, aiming to ensure fair opportunities for businesses owned by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.
The proposed goals and updated ACDBE plan were made available on the SMBR website's Document Library section. Further, those who wish to inspect the methodology behind the proposed goals may do so during normal working hours at the city offices in Austin until March 23.
The airport will take in and consider public feedback on the proposed numbers until March 23, allowing for a 30-day commentary period starting from the original date of notice. All comments must be submitted to [email protected] or through the mail by the listed deadline. Should there be any inquiries, Edward Campos, the ACDBE Liaison Officer, can be reached at the provided phone number for assistance.
